Jesus Christ came into the world to demonstrate that God’s acceptance is meant for everyone. The church He established here is intended to be a safe place where God transforms people’s hearts. However, there are certain groups in society that are absent from the church.
According to surveys*, two-thirds of people between the ages of 18 and 29 are leaving churches. The most common reason cited is that while the gospel is beautiful, the way we communicate it often feels distant to them.* The bridges of understanding for God’s message are eroding with each passing generation.
Picture a church that actively reaches out to those leaving or passing by. Envision a church that recognizes the needs of young, secular-minded individuals and presents the message of Jesus in a way that resonates deeply with them. It’s time to reverse the trend of younger generations leaving the church, with God’s help.

Creating a Safe Place
With the aim of reaching those still seeking the Lord, we established SafePoint. This initiative by the Bohemian Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church quickly garnered a strong response. In less than two years, what began as a small group has blossomed into a community of over 70 people gathering for Sabbath services and throughout the week. Within this short time, 21 individuals have formally joined the church through SafePoint, with more currently preparing for baptism. Newcomers arrive regularly, many opening their Bibles for the first time, earnestly exploring prayer, and experiencing God’s presence in profound ways.
It seems that God has begun to rebuild the crumbling bridges to lost generations.
How do we create SafePoint?
We strive to create an open and confidential environment where people are not afraid to ask questions and question things along the way. Together, we search the Bible and our relationship with God for a way to find meaning and peace in the midst of a hectic world.
The stories of people into whose lives God enters are a great encouragement to us. And SafePoint is full of such stories!
“I came to SafePoint as a person looking for help and direction in building a personal relationship with God. But it has brought me so much more—spiritual development, the opportunity to be part of an open, meaningful community full of friends who are always there to support me, and even a lot of fun in our regular activities together.”
Kristýna S.
“I recently came across SafePoint on Instagram, so I decided to visit. I’m just getting to know Christianity and I like that I can come here as I am, talk openly about spiritual things and feel like I belong somewhere. The people here are really nice and that’s not usual in society.”
Marie M.
“I’ve been a Christian for some time, but I haven’t attended a church in years. SafePoint is a new home for my young, awakened spirit. Everyone is accepted there without prejudice and is safe. My friends have become my family.”
René Z.
“I only recently came to Adventists and I’m glad I found SafePoint. It’s a place full of young people who love God. This community is very open and makes an effort to make sure that anyone new can feel accepted.”
Mirka L.
“SafePoint has helped me establish the deepest relationship with God I’ve ever had, thanks to Pavel and the amazing people I always look forward to meeting.”
Peter S.
“I have been going to Adventists since I was a little girl. But after Covid I stopped attending the church. I chose SafePoint mainly because it is a place where people are accepted for who they are. And also because there is another way to look at Christianity.”

When we rented the attic space in the former Karlin Winter Synagogue in October 2022, we had no idea how quickly it would fill up. In just a few months, fitting nearly 60 people into a room the size of a large living room has become a remarkable challenge. During services, some people sit on the floor or stand in the corridor, and others have stopped attending—not for lack of interest in Jesus, but simply because the prayer room is too small to accommodate everyone.
We are witnessing firsthand that God has great plans for the younger generations. Now, it’s time to take the next, bigger step: securing new facilities.
We envision a church where everyone finds their place—a welcoming, open community dedicated to the message of Jesus. If this vision resonates with you, we invite you to join us in the SafePoint journey, where God is reaching generations previously considered unreachable.
To achieve this vision, we urgently need larger facilities. Our goal is to expand our outreach to the community, creating a hub that can connect with more secular-minded Czechs. We are committed to continuing our mission with even greater faith in God’s blessings. However, we cannot accomplish this alone. We trust that God is guiding us through this journey. We believe in the power of prayer and the generosity that defines God’s kingdom.

We’re aiming for a total of $175 000. It may seem unimaginable and abstract to the young people at SafePoint, but big steps require big faith.
We see this as an investment in the future of a church in one of Europe’s most atheistic countries.
“I cherish the moments at SafePoint, sitting with people I wouldn’t typically encounter, and witnessing God’s work unfold. SafePoint is a stable and secure haven that our weary and fragmented society craves—a place where the church truly shines. This is an important project that brings hope to people who seek the Lord God and to the Church that its congregations will not remain empty.”

“SafePoint is a relevant answer to what young adults in Prague are asking, in their language: community, intimacy, connection with God. From online to a vibrant community, Safepoint newcomers enjoy a discipleship path that starts grasping the surface of who God is to follow the Master, whatever it takes. SafePoint has replicated the spirit of the first Christian communities in the core of the secular Czech Republic. It symbolizes what the CSPM seeks, creating churches sensitive to the secular worldview and letting the Spirit transform them.”

“SafePoint is a great example for church planters around the world. I’ve heard so much about you and I’m really proud of all of you.”
